    Default Blackberry Beta (Closed)

    UPDATE: PreRelease version is out!

Ok, so its not technically a full release, (because you'd have to be crazy to release a product while half the country is away on vacation ), but if you'd like to buy the "prerelease" version, you can do so from here:

    http://comicreader.mobi/Blackberry/features.aspx

There are a lot of improvements on this over the .8 beta, but the most significant one is that it no longer runs like crap
The load times are much better than before, and the rendering is fast enough that you can actually drag the lens.

The new look is implemented. You can see the iphone version of the look here:
Version 2.0 submitted (lots of pictures) - ComicReader Mobi

The pages now automatically size to fit, so you never need to scroll. If you have a landscape page, it will now automatically rotate to landscape view, and back again for the next portrait page.
If you drag on the screen than you can select an area you want the lens to zoom in on, and that section will popout

The info page works, which will let you quickly see where you're at in the series. The series and file selection menus will tell you where you're at in each series and comic.
There's a text sensitivity option which well let you easily adjust the sensitivity for each comic, as well as select between two presets for b&W and Color.
Options are in to let you change the zoom level (I prefer 3x myself). As well as an option to split the double pages into single pages, and a couple other things I can't quite remember.
Transparent onscreen buttons, or super transparent buttons, let you have onscreen back and forth buttons, so you don't need to rely on pressing the escape key.
The transparent buttons are draggable so you can move them out of the way if they're blocking something on the screen.

There are some other things too, but I don't remember them off the top of my head.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the new version

v.08 Fixed unable to extract bug with rar images.

v.07 Fixed lockup when hitting a bad image.
Implemented Custom loader. Should be able to handle images of all sizes now.

v.06 Medium quality resize for main image, high quality resize for lens.
    Real loading indicator.
    Fixed "Load next comic" bug
    Extended expiration date.

    v.05 High quality image resizer.

v.04 went back to old image loader.
Added Folder selection menu for people who can't get the Comics Directory to work.

    v.03 Change Log:
Custom image loader. Only works with jpegs. This should allow caching, which will make pages change much faster. But I'm still working on getting rid of the hourglass.
I think I fixed the scanline issue people were reporting. (seems to have gone away, although I don't know why)

New ALX file, so hopefully they'll install now

This version fixes the bug where cbr and cbz files weren't detected.
A really crappy loading message was added in.
Should be able to select options with the storm now.

    Controls

    Volume Up: Previous Page
    Volume Down: Next Page
    Space: Next Page

double click to bring up controls

    Trackball Users:
Use the Back/Close button (whats the official name?) to toggle between drag and mouse modes.

in mouse mode you can click anywhere to bring up the lens. In drag mode it will either drag the lens or the page, depending on where the mouse is.

    Storm Users:
the Back page will change to the next page.
I don't have a blackberry storm, and can only test on the simulator, so the controls may behave oddly for this first version.

In the thread, you said you weren't able to install it. What happened, did it give you any warnings?

There is a "cod" file, an "exe" file and a "bat".

I am just not sure how to install using the above. It's not what I am use to but I'm not expert enough to know what's going on here.

oh just run the load.bat file while the device is plugged into the usb cable.

Or if you know what to do with cod files, you can just use that.

I'm trying to load a comic.

I have created a folder called "Comics" and placed one cbr file of 20M in it.

    Within the APP -> Folder
I see nothing except for "Empty"

try restarting the app, or if that doesn't work, try putting a second comic file in there.

Tried various drive options with 2 x 4mb cbr files. Rebooted many times. I still get "Empty".
