I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the Publicity forum. I decided on here, because ultimately, it's a suggestion for the website.
There's quite a few free comics on the interweb (actual legal ones!) in the right format for your suite of applications, but they take some finding. You have to scour forums for suggestions and often, the free one's ain't that great. But that said, they're free and show off comicreadermobi's talents quite nicely.
I propose a page on your main site that links to as many free .cbr and .cbz comics as we can collectively find, with a short description, review and if possible an image. As we find them, we can post links in this thread.
Here's a couple to get started with:
Cory Doctorow's Futuristic Tales of the Here and Now.
Therefore Repent by Jim Munro.
Oni Press have a whole bunch!
Is there a way to use the application itself to download these directly in the same way that you link to the application updates? Between them, the web page and 'comic store' functionality would get new users up and running with lots to read in no time, with no need to resort to (ahem) 'other' sources of comics!
Also... does anyone know the copyright status of those comic previews that you often see on IGN, Comic Book Resources and other sites? It would be pretty simple to create downloadable files for these - maybe a monthly digest of some sort.
And finally... we're all comic lovers here. Where's our comic discussion forum! I want to moan about the delays to Kick Ass and the awesome Hitler strangling taking place on the cover of the latest issue of Captain America: Rebirth!
See, Ty. I don't just break your stuff!
